McCollum Shows Comfortable Lead

A statewide Mason-Dixon poll released today shows Attorney General Bill McCollum leading Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink in the Florida Governors Race 41 percent to 35 percent. General McCollum posted name recognition numbers near 90 percent, compared with CFO Sink, who barely broke 60 percent. Additionally, General McCollum receives four times the support among Democrats that CFO Sink does among Republicans and beats CFO Sink among Independents by an almost 2-1 margin, demonstrating his electability and appeal to Republicans, Democrats and Independents.

Jonathan Krohn to Attend DtD Exchange 09

TallahasseeThe Republican Party of Florida is pleased to announce that author and conservative activist Jonathan Krohn will attend the Drive the Discussion Exchange 09 youth conference on August 22, 2009 at the Gaylord Palms resort in Orlando, Florida.

We were excited to confirm Jonathan Krohn as a speaker for the DtD Exchange 09, said RPOF Chairman Jim Greer. In the time since his passionate speech at CPAC last year, Jonathan has become a national spokesperson for young conservative activists across the nation. We welcome his vision and are eager to include his point of view as we work to drive the discussion on the future of our great party.

The DtD Web site provides a unique platform for young people around the nation to discuss the issues of the day. Drive the Discussion Exchange 09 will be a gathering for young people from across the State of Florida to discuss the future of the Republican Party, later this summer. The event is open to all ages, but will focus on young voters, 18 35 years of age. The Exchange will include a keynote address by Bruce Jenner, panel discussions on The Benefits of Social Networking and What Does the Republican Party Mean To Me?, as well as a trade show. Speakers will include technology professionals, elected officials, and professional athletes between the ages of 25-40.
