Cannon Creates House Majority Task Force

Tallahassee–Speaker Designate Dean Cannon today announced the creation of the House Majority Task Force within the House Campaigns arm of the Republican Party of Florida. The House Majority Task Force will focus on supporting, mentoring and fundraising for Republican candidates in targeted house races throughout the state.

The House Majority Task Force will be co-chaired by Representatives Will Weatherford (R-Wesley Chapel) and Chris Dorworth (R-Lake Mary) and vice-chaired by Representatives Mike Horner (R-Kissimmee) and Jimmy Patronis (R-Panama City).

“The 2010 election presents an unprecedented opportunity to solidify our Republican majority in the Florida House of Representatives,” said Speaker Designate Cannon. “With more than 20 open seats plus the opportunity to pick up several Democrat incumbent seats, it has never been more important that we focus not only on recruiting and retaining quality candidates, but also on providing those candidates with the tools necessary for success.”
