Tallahassee – Florida Agriculture Commissioner Charles H. (Charlie) Bronson today announced his endorsement of Attorney General Bill McCollum to be Florida’s next Governor.

“Bill is a friend, a guardian for consumers and our children, a steady, experienced hand and he is the solid leader that is needed to guide us out of the tough economic times that we are facing,” Bronson said in a Letter to Florida Republicans. “I hope you will stand with me, over the next 17 months, as I focus on doing whatever is needed to ensure that Bill McCollum is elected as the next Governor of our beautiful state.”

Bronson had contemplated a gubernatorial bid but recently announced he would not campaign for the office being vacated by Governor Charlie Crist. “Now is the time to be united behind our nominee and to that end, I enthusiastically endorse Attorney General Bill McCollum,” Bronson added.

“Charlie Bronson is a statesman, an outstanding public servant and a leader of great integrity,” said McCollum. “I am humbled to have his support, counsel and friendship, and will work side by side with Charlie to make our great state an even greater place to live, work and raise a family.”

The McCollum campaign recently announced the endorsement of more than 60 state legislators and U.S. Senator Mel Martinez, among others. For campaign news and updates, visit www.BillMcCollum.com
